I could go on and on about why I love Grand Rapids. It is my hometown. When I am there I am filled with comfort. Many things have changed, yet sometimes it feels as though it is just the same as when I moved away, maybe better. Obviously, I was thrilled when Nick and Sarah invited me to photograph their wedding in Grand Rapids. I will take any excuse for a visit back, especially with my camera in hand and I was truly excited to photograph this wedding. We had a blast on the beach during Sarah and Nick’s engagement session, so I knew their wedding would be amazing.
The day was perfect. Nick and Sarah were married at St. Mary’s. From there, they celebrated throughout the town. There was a stop at Downtown Market, Founders and even The Grand Rapids Public Library. The reception and celebration continued at Studio D2D. The celebration went well into the night and I must admit, my favorite part was the glow sticks. I may never know whether Nick and Sarah’s guests are a group who loves dancing, or if the glow sticks inspired them to move more. Either way, it was a blast. This was a wedding filled with love, family, friendship and incredible dance moves.
I wish Nick and Sarah all the best. They just returned from their honeymoon in Canada, though I know this is just the start of the adventure to come as husband and wife.
While working on this post I was listening to Phillip Phillips.
