Regina was one of the first friends I made when we moved to Naperville three years ago. I met Regina when we were out for a mutual friend’s bachelorette party. After chatting, we found that we would both be teaching the same grade, in the same school district. Needless to say, we have been friends ever since.
I was so pleased when Regina told me she and her husband Matt were expecting. I love watching my friends begin the journey of motherhood. I was excited to photograph her sweet family in their home. This is just one of the many reasons I love photography. I am able to capture pivotal moments for families. This stage, a new baby is such a happy time and I feel blessed to be such a small part of it.
Avery is surrounded by love. Her mother, father, grandmother, great grandmother and even her dog light up when she is in the room. Her expressions are adorable. Avery is beginning to notice the world around her, and her reactions are priceless. Three months is one of my favorite infant stages. They are just a tiny ball of laughs and smiles.
These photographs are so special. Four generations, one backyard.
This is such a special and happy time in this family’s life and I was so pleased to come over and photograph this sweet family.
While writing this post, I was listening to my latest addiction Freakenomics Radio.
