Jamie called me about her wedding when I was on a trip to photograph a couple in Denver. I had an exciting day and I was just about to watch Netflix in my hotel room, and then I got her voicemail. She sounded so sweet that I called back right away. Jamie is kind and graceful and I thought she was wonderful right from our initial phone call. I heard all about her wedding and she booked me on the spot, we were a match!
I met Rory during he and Jamie’s engagement session. He was so thrilled about their wedding and was an intricate part in the planning.
On the day of their wedding, Rory was ecstatic. His smile was contagious, he was marrying his girl and he could not have been more proud. I watched as Jamie’s smile widened as she first saw her groom, and I knew I witnessed firsthand how this couple is whole when they are together.
I cried when I learned about the hardships they have carried each other through, and then laughed when I heard about how they first met. Rory offered Jamie a beer at a college party and control over the music, which I loved picturing.
This wedding was one of those days that just reminds me that I need to carry these cameras of mine until I am an old lady. The people who I meet and photograph are so important to me. These are more than just photographs. This is a slice of Jamie and Rory’s love story that they will look back on forever.
While I was working on this wedding, I was listening to The Postal Service.
