I wish I could somehow show my grandmother my own family. She has been gone for 15 years, yet I still think of her almost each day. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, she taught me to be a good mother and the importance of being a strong matriarch to your family. Family meals and holiday decorations are not just about trying trendy or traditional recipes and keeping designer holiday decor. Creating a welcoming home and gathering family for meals is a way to keep families bonded and together. My grandmother taught me this. Though she will never meet my little family, I still carry her in my heart and strive to be a leader to my family as she was to ours.
